Katy is the founding director of GeoSafe Community Interest Company. The GeoSafe mission is to develop sustainable, alternative, future proof environments to improve the life chances and positive outcomes for people, families and communities at the interfaces of public sector and welfare reforms. GeoSafe has the required approvals, NoWFOOD specialist support and premises under offer in Greater Manchester to facilitate the repurposing of cannabis farm assets seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act. These assets will be asset locked and deployed within an indoor community farm, producing high yield, high value crops.
Katy is also the RECOOP Regional Partnership Consultant for Manchester and the North West. Working in partnership with the Prison Estate and the National Probation Service, she delivers consultancy, training and the co-ordination of age specific regimes, activities and support services in both Prisons and Approved Premises. Prior to RECOOP, she has worked locally, regionally and nationally across the third and public sectors in diverse roles including management, policy, strategy, commissioning and consultancy. She specialises in social and criminal justice solutions, multiple and complex needs and extremely hard to reach clients and client groups.
Katy will provide an overview of GeoSafe C.I.C. - the concept, the innovations and the dovetailing of multiple social sector opportunities, including the future potential for food and drink sectors in the repurposing of UK cannabis farm assets.
